The Christian Hip Hop community has something to look forward to as Suffix gears up to put out a new song featuring USA contemporary gospel artist, Sho Baraka.
According to management for the award-winning gospel rapper, the song, titled ‘Ghetto Ndi Nyatwa’, will drop on January 23, 2018.
Suffix’ manager, Bob Phondo, says the final mix for the song will be delivered to management from producers today, Tuesday, January 16.
On the difference of the two artists and the song being titled ‘Ghetto Ndi Nyatwa’, Phondo says “You will understand when you listen to the joint”.
Sho Baraka recorded his verse on the 16th of December, immediately after his performance in Malawi at Gateway Mall in the capital Lilongwe.
“We had Dj Sley set up a studio at the place where Sho Baraka was staying,” says Phondo.
The manager adds both Suffix and Sho Baraka were present in the studio.
“We did a shoot for the artwork next day in Blantyre, also after Sho Baraka’s performance at Blantyre Cultural Center” Phondo discloses.
Musician and accomplished director Theo Thomson, Gareth Lipunga and Sisa, were the photographers.
Phondo says the beat was made by Blage and it was recorded, mixed and mastered by Dj Sley. Additional vocals were from AkonThaBoard, Blackafella and Kelvin Sings.
Phondo states that Blackafella did the intro.
“He just did part of the intro. That’s why he is under additional vocals. Not a feature.”
Sho Baraka was in Malawi late in 2017 for a tour, which took him to two of the country’s cities, Lilongwe and Blantyre.
