Hip Hop artist Fredokiss says free shows are aimed at interacting with his fans and sharing them knowledge on issues affecting the youth.
Fredokiss started with a free show in Ndirande township in Blantyre on August 28 attracting an enormous crowd.
Next show is lined up for Lilongwe at Masitha ground on October 14.
Fredokiss says the idea behind free shows came about as many people at events can not afford to pay gate fairs and end up staying outside venues.
Speaking to our reporter, the self proclaimed ghetto spokesperson spoke candidly about his experience.
“We are doing these free shows because i know my fan base has some people who cannot manage to pay to enter into venue’s”.
“I got to events and find a lot of people just standing outside. This is my platform to interact with my people” said Fredokiss.
He added that the second component of his free shows is edutainment.
“Ghetto Gatta entertainment is also taking the edutainment approach where we use these shows to talk about issues like early marriages among others. We want to give the youth knowledge that will help them in their lives” emphasizes Fredokiss.
Fredokiss further divulged that Smooth Maheu is no longer a part of the ghetto movement shows scheduled for Lilongwe as it was earlier publicized.
“Smooth wanted to come in and be a part but that is no longer the case because we did not agree on some terms”.
“You will find that there two posters, the first one had Smooth where as the second one does not due to other reasons, they are not included. Basically this is Ghetto Gatta Entertainment free show and it is not sponsored” said Fredokiss.
The Hip Hop artist has plans of taking his flagship show to the northern part of the country after Lilongwe.
However details of the northern region free show are yet to be announced publicly.
