Malawi players to enroll for tertiary courses by April
Football Players Association of Malawi (Fpam) has partnered with Modern Education and Training Institute to enroll local players into tertiary courses by April 2018.
The partnership is aimed at providing footballers with educational skills.
Currently the Institute has asked clubs for a list of players that possess Malawi School Certificate of Education Certificates.
Fpam on its part has set March 1 as the deadline for Super League players to register.
General secretary for Fpam, Ernest Maganga, says registration forms have been dispatched to all players in the Super League.
“We hope to finalize handling of players contracts by end of February”.
Maganga says the response from the clubs is vital, adding this will ensure betterment of Malawian football.
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has since welcomed the initiative, assuring they will meet the deadline.
Williams Banda, sulom general secretary, indicates they are in touch with clubs for compliance.
