Mponda tipped to contest for MP

Former Malawi national football team, The Flames and Black Leopards captain, Peter Mponda has revealed that he has been tipped by some quarters to vie for a seat as a member of the parliament.
Speaking to Nyasashowbiz, the Wizards Fc owner and technical director emphasized that he has not made up his mind yet as he would like to see first why people want him there before coming up with the decision.
“I haven’t made up my mind yet, firstly I would like to see why people want me to contest as an MP, what has the current MP done, what are the expectations of the people” he narrated.
The former Flames last man highlighted that if he will decide to contest, he will represent Blantyre south west constituency as it is the place he grew up in and he knows its difficulties in and out.
“BT south west is my home, born and raised there, I know everything about that constituency, no one can cheat me about BT south west. I know the pains n joys of the city” he said.
However, Mponda said he should be given some time to think about the issue after asked if he will join a political party or contest as an independent candidate.
Mponda born 4th September 1981 helped the national team to qualify for 2010 African cup of the nation.
He has played for Caps united, Santos, Black Leopards and Bullets Fc formerly called Bakili Bullets in his time.
