National Bank College Basketball tourney returns in April

The National Bank-sponsored Mo626 College Basketball tournament is set for an early start this year. The competition has been shifted to April.

In 2017, the year it was inaugurated, the tournament started in August and ended in December.

Basketball Association of Malawi (BAM) general secretary, Edgar Ng’ong’ola, said the shift will allow the tournament to align with their calendar.

Ng’ong’ola said they also want to run away from the rainy season, which disturbed last year’s games.

“As you are aware we do not have indoor facilities to host games,” he indicated.

Muti Chibwana, NBM Products Promotions Executive has confirmed the change.

The K30 million tournament was won by African Bible College in the ladies’ category and Malawi College of Accountancy in the men’s category.
