Gospel Hip Hop act, Suffix has been nominated for Hip Hop Afro Artiste Excellence award at Africa Gospel Music and Media Awards.
This is the third nomination for Suffix at the prestigious platform.
In 2017, he was nominated twice and went away with one for Hip Hop Excellence award for the song Mkazi Wakumwamba.
In an interview Suffix said “It’s so humbling bro. God is good.”
Back home he is also nominated for Nyasa Music Awards taking place on May 4, 2018 at Comesa Hall in Blantyre.
The following day, May 5, Suffix will be launching his ‘Before I Sleep’ debut album at Mbowe.
The choice to take the album launch to Mbowe raised eyebrows but Letswai, which is Suffix management Chief Officer, Bob Phondo explains the logic behind it “We want everyone to be able able to attend.”
“It’s (Mbowe) a central place for everyone. Easily accessible. Plus everyone knows it. Plus the owners gave us the venue to use for free.”
“The point actually is where the word needs to be heard the most is where we’d go.”
The AGMMA award ceremony for this year takes place on June 2, 2018 in East London Arts and Music main auditorium from 6pm.
